The advantage over classic SOM solutions is that it does not require an additional baseboard and is ready for immediate use. Depending on requirements, this can save time and costs in development, testing and production. The new SBCSOM is offered with an NXP i.MX 8M Mini processor at a particularly attractive price and has all the basic components. The modular design nevertheless allows easy integration of individual interfaces.
Thus, we offer a cost-effective, ready-to-use modular solution equipped with an NXP i.MX 8M Mini processor and all essential components and interfaces. These include an industrial-grade power supply, Ethernet/POE, USB, WLAN/Bluetooth, mini HDMI, LVDS, PCIe, as well as µSD and SIM Card.
Expansion possibilities of the SBCSOM
A big advantage for you is the possibility to integrate further functions via two system connectors at the sides (CARD-Edge), in which extension boards are connected. These are usually easy and inexpensive to manufacture and can even be incorporated into the layout of the SBCSOM board at a later date. This is the reason for the special and unique feature of the SBCSOM.
In addition to extensions as proprietary development, where you can add your own interfaces easily and without great expense, we of course also offer you ready-developed extension boards.
The novel modular solution enables you to develop prototypes and 0-series samples much faster. As the project progresses and quantities increase, you can decide at any time whether the SBCSOM should become a classic SBC without having to start from scratch in development. As always, you benefit from the familiar Keith & Koep advantages such as maintenance, component procurement and the PCN process (Product Change Notification) for the components.
The SBCSOM can be operated with common operating systems such as Android 9, Windows 10 IoT and Linux.
